Amino Acids & Fatty Acids Used for Neuopathy and What they Do
What can be Used for Neuropathy.
Alpha-Lipoic Acid – R-Lipoic acid is not a key ingredient for nerve repair. It helps with circulation. It is an anti-oxidant. It doesn’t repair nerves, but has value in preventing further damage.
It can be helpful as an anti-oxidant, but not very useful if taken by itself for helping neuropathy. It needs to be used with Aceytl-L-Carnitine. See article ALA & ALCAR
L-Arginine – This is an amino acid. It may be safe when taken in the short term, it can cause a number of side effects including indigestion, nausea, headaches, bloating, diarrhea, gout, blood abnormalities, allergies, airway inflammation, worsening of asthma, and low blood pressure. Higher does of L-arginine can increase stomach acid. It may also worsen heartburn, ulcers or digestive upset caused by medication.
L-Argine should be avoided by diabetes patients, people who have suffered from heart attack and pregnant or nursing womein. In addition, L-arginne may aggravate symptoms in people with herpes.
Taking these supplements – Amino Acids & Fatty Acids should be taken on an empty stomach. This will help the body to use them.
B Vitamins that are essential to nerve damage repair needs to be taken with food – so they are better assimilated by the body.
Thus, Amino acids and B vitamins need to be taken separately. Don’t use a supplement that combines these different types of nutrients. It just doesn’t make sense.
